About Me

I'm a young professional striving to develop a wholistic skillset and systematically deliver value. I am studying Chemical Engineering and Business Management in Brisbane and have a hands-on trade background. I'm passionate about process design, modelling & analysis; and am exploring these topics in my studies, career, partnerships and independently.

Between my studies and work I have operated professionally in the commercial construction, consulting, mining, hospitality, film, fertiliser, FMCG, finance & academic industries. In doing so, I have repeatedly demonstrated my capacity to rapidly acclimatise to new professional functions. 

My proficiency in acquiring technical skills; and my keen social and economic perception have put me in a position where I can work effectively on cross functional teams to solve sticky problems from ideation to implementation.

Work Experience

Managing Partner | B&T Digital | Oct '22 - Ongoing

B&T Digital is a digital consultancy born in 2022. Initially focusing on developing capability, B&T
Digital offers affordable tech support and digital systems development for small to medium
businesses; and data analysis pre-processing services for larger, data-centric firms.
B&T Digital is founded, owned and operated by myself and fellow Engineering student Ben Israel.
With combined experience excelling in software engineering, project management, process
engineering and quantitative problem solving, we're confident that our hard work will unlock
untapped value in our clients' business.
Cognisant of the risk businesses might perceive exists by engaging students in this function,
we're confident that our cost, terms and insight will make engaging professionally with B&T
Digital a valuable decision.
Thus far, I have performed quantitative market research; built responsive websites; completed graphic design works; written and sent out personalized and automated proposals; written and handled contracts; and developed my digital technology skillset independently of my other studies.

Engineering Intern | Rio Tinto | Nov '22 - Mar '23

I have recently (28/11/22) commenced employment in RioTinto's PacOps Aluminium function. I will primarily be working on an alumina digestion analytics project and am excited to see what skills and opportunities transpire from my involvement in the vacation program. 

Asset Advisory Intern | Pollen Consulting Group as part of Argon & Co. | Nov '21 - Ongoing

Over the university summer vacation, I've engaged with a team of engineers in an internship. Throughout the placement, I quickly taught myself to use 3D Laser imaging equipment and software to capture details of client sites. In this role, I also audited assets over multiple site facilities and, using this information, I developed spreadsheets that consolidated the physical assets found with conflicting maintenance and financial asset registers. This role has required that I balance time sensitive technical tasks with travel and frequent meetings.

Food and Beverage Event Staff | O'Brien Group Australia | Jul '21 - Ongoing

This role involves working in stadium bars or food outlets to provide service to spectators and patrons at sporting and other events. This is a fast-paced role where I operate with a different team each shift and service a high volume of diverse customers.

High School Mathematics Tutor | Self Emplyed | Nov '20 - Nov '21

Throughout the school term I tutored high school mathematics for a few hours a week. Specifically, in this role, I subcontracted my services out to a 3rd party organisation.

Trade Assistant/Engineering intern | Pyrocal Pty. Ltd. | Nov '20 - Feb '21  

I worked as a trade assistant in a small team, primarily consisting of engineers and tradespeople, over my summer vacation. This work consisted of assembly, installation and commissioning of Pyrocal's proprietary CCT plant, among some administrative tasks in the office and other tasks as required.

Labourer/Warehouse Operator | Tanuki Pty. Ltd. Toowoomba | Nov '19 - Feb '20

At Tanuki, over my university holidays, my work was largely on the warehouse floor. I assisted in making charcoal briquettes; mixing and packaging of a variety of fertilisers; among a number of other tasks as necessary.

Apprentice Carpenter | FKG Group | Feb '18 - Jan '19

I worked in the small works division based in Toowoomba as an apprentice carpenter for 12 months to gain industry experience before studying full time at university. In this role I was frequently made responsible for OH+S paperwork and other administrative tasks in the site office.

Debating Vice-Captain | Brisbane Boys' College | 2017

During high school I was appointed as debating vice-captain and throughout my 4 year involvement in the debating program I began developing my critical thinking and formal communication skills.

• Recently I've joined the UQ Judo Club and am enjoying learning the new skill.
• Most of my friends and I enjoy card and board games when we meet up.
• When I'm free on weekdays I enjoy swing trading Australian securities.
• Of a weekend or evening I love reading. In particular, I like books about economics, psychology and occasionally fantasy.
  
• I also enjoy (although am very unremarkable at) playing my acoustic guitar.
